And now Xiaomi is taking the smartphone-charging universe by storm with its new 200W HyperCharge technology that claims to charge 0 – 100% in 8 minutes. Yes, you read it right, 100% charge in 8 mins. Big and better battery life has always been a point of emphasis among smartphone brands. But when you can fully charge your device within a matter of minutes, it shifts the whole dynamics among the battery life and charging duo. Xiaomi 200 Watt HyperCharge fast charging technology
In the video released by Xiaomi, a charging test is clearly demonstrated with the charger attached to an electricity usage monitor to justify the claims made for its fast-charging technologies. The phone used was a custom-built Mi 11 Pro with 4,000 mAh battery. With this, Xiaomi has become the first OEM to offer 200W fast charging which is the highest ever for a smartphone. Honestly, the results were more than just impressive with the new wired fast charging Mi 200 Watt HyperCharge technology that took only 8 minutes to charge up the phone from 0 to 100%. But while the technology seems competitive and ready to bring about a revolutionary change in smartphone charging applications, you’ve to consider the fact that the video featured a specially designed Mi11 Pro for its charging features.
Xiaomi 120W wireless fast charging technology
In part 2 of the same video, we get to witness a charging speed demonstration of the same custom-built Xiaomi Mi11 Pro with a wireless 120W charger. The tech giant introduced 120W wireless fast charging technology with a claim to charge a smartphone from 0 to 100% with the same battery of 4000mAh capacity with an additional time of just 7 minutes over the 200W Hypercharge technology. The 120W wireless charger is claimed to fully charge the customized Mi11 Pro in just 15 minutes. This is clearly represented in the video where it is shown that the phone charges to 10% in just 1 minute, then gradually reaches up to 50% charge in a ridiculous 7 minutes and finally, ramps down on power to get to a full 100% charge in 15 minutes. Just like with the 200W HyperCharge fast charging technology, this Mi 120W wireless charging is indeed a great option to charge your phone in less time. But you’ve to understand that these technologies are to be tailored and won’t be readily available in the commercial market because of a serious note of battery degradation at such high speeds.
