Before the publication from Verge, the spokesperson of Facebook completely denied commenting on the news. He said, “Facebook does not comment on rumor or speculation.” It’s quite evident they wanted the news to light up the internet by concealing it as much as they can. It is also being speculated that Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp will be changed too. Just like all the Google hands come under one umbrella of Alphabet, the same can happen with Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook. The name change will highly impact all the Facebook-owned platforms. The change will come in the augmented reality spheres and will thin the line between the real and virtual worlds. The original idea is to evolve Facebook into a space where users “walk around and interact with one another in real time“. Facebook has also announced that a group of 10,000 people will sit in Europe to create the very hyped multiverse. Along with the fact that it is going to bring new high-level technology to humans, we cannot forget that Facebook is trying to change its controversial reputation. The fact that Facebook has always kept mum about all the hate-spreading has only made the new change more questionable. With the new multiverse change, will Facebook stop promoting hate-spreading? Many ex-employees of Facebook have confirmed that all at the board of Facebook know that the platforms actively spread hate and violence. But they have failed to take any action towards it. Despite all the allegations, Facebook has never accepted its “misleading content”. It continuously argues that the apps does more good than harm.
