While the premium is still there, you are not expected to pay with an arm and leg nowadays, which makes the entire deal a lot sweeter. If you are looking for the best 1TB SSD, you will not be short of options. 1TB has become a standard for a lot of people these days, given how the size of games and programs has increased to a great significance. Not just that, SSD is now an umbrella term considering how there are now different SSD types. That is why we have decided that we are going to do a definitive round-up with a proper buying guide in which we will be covering all the top 1TB SSDs.

Best 1TB SSD – An In-Depth Round-Up Comparison Table!

Best 1TB SSD (M.2 NVMe)

The first section we have is specifically for the M.2 NVMe SSDs, which have become popular all thanks to their compatibility and how they eliminate the need for any SATA cables. Not to mention, these are the fastest in the market, as well. Therefore, you are getting the best of the bunch here.

#1 – SAMSUNG 980 PRO

Now that the PCI-Express 4.0 has become a thing thanks to the Ryzen 5000 series of processors, we are seeing SSD manufacturers sending out great SSDs based on the latest interface. In all honesty, I am surprised by how good the performance is and how insane it is in the first place.

M.2 2280 form factor. Samsung Magician support. Max speeds of 7,000 MB/s. 600 TBW. Interface: PCIe Gen 4.0 Item Dimensions: LxWxH 3.15 x 0.87 x 0.09 inches Reliable Thermal Control.

Insanely fast read/write performance. Great warranty. Hardware encryption is great. Samsung Magician software is a great offering. Black PCB keeps it understated and looks great while doing so.

The endurance rating is not as good but its strong enough!

Samsung being one of the industry leaders, released the SAMSUNG 980 PRO recently, and yes, while the name might seem like a very small bump, it is twice as fast as its predecessors, which is just out of the world. Now, in all honesty here, I was not expecting such a massive speed bump here because I believed that it is going to perform on the same level or a slightly faster level. Still, the 980 Pro is almost twice as fast as the predecessor, making it one of the fastest consumer-grade SSD available. The PCI-Express 4.0 support means that the bandwidth that this SSD can use or deliver is insane, too. Samsung’s 5-year warranty is also returning to the table, and as is the hardware encryption that Samsung is famous for. Therefore, it is safe to say that you are all covered when it comes to these factors. The only downside here is that you are getting access to an endurance rating that is, for some reason, not very extensive than the predecessor, but other than that, this SSD is a speed demon and should not be overlooked.

#2 – Samsung 970 PRO

Kicking off the list, we have a great option from Samsung, and the reason why we are saying a great option is that is what Samsung is known for doing; they have been making some of the finest SSDs, whether you are talking about the older SATA based or, the newer NVMe drives. I am still trying to recollect my thoughts after using the SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD because I’ll be honest, I was not expecting the SSD to be this good when it comes to overall performance, but I was wrong because it is just that good and more. If I were to say that Samsung has outdone themselves with how good this SSD performs, I would not be the only one because they truly have as this is one of the fastest SSDs available that you can get your hands on at the moment, and you will not be regretting your buying decision either.

M.2 2280 form factor. Sequential read/write speeds of up to 3,200/2,700 MB/s. 1,200 TBW endurance. Samsung Magician for proper support. PCIe Gen 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.3. Item Dimensions: 0.87 x 3.15 x 0.09 inches. Dynamic Thermal Guard.

Ridiculously fast and consistent speeds. Excellent reliability through and through. 5-year warranty for added peace of mind. Power consumption on the lower side. Hardware encryption for great security.

Available in only two capacity options.

The Samsung 970 PRO is an excellent drive for a whole lot of reasons, and that is why it deserves a place in this list, because honestly, after using this drive for some time, it is hard to even think about getting something else. The SSD brings extremely well-balanced and fast read and write speeds across the board. The reliability ratings are among the finest, and you are also getting the legendary 5-year warranty that Samsung is known for giving you. Not to forget, as compared to some of the other options available in the market, the power consumption is on the lower side too, and hardware encryption just sweetens the overall deal, so you are good to go here. The only downside here is that the SSD is available in only two capacities, and that might be a downside for those who want something lower than 512GB or higher than 1TB.

#3 – XPG S40G

ADATA has been making some impressive memory products for some time, so when they launched their gaming brand called XPG, it was not a surprise, but they did continue to impress us with some amazing product offerings. I understand that buying a new SSD can be a difficult ordeal simply because with so much to choose from, it is easy to make mistakes, and that is exactly what we want to avoid here because there is no point in getting something that is not good enough. Thankfully, the Samsung 970 PRO does not share the same case as it still one of the best SSDs available and manages to deliver a fantastic overall performance. True, it does cost more money than some of the other options that might be available. However, you are paying for great reliability and even better speed. Sadly, the SSD is available only in two capacities, but we do not hold that against this SSD.

M.2 2280 form factor. RGB lighting that syncs up with all major motherboards. Sequential read/write performance of up to 3,500/3,000 MB/s. NVMe 1.3 supported. 5-Year Limited manufacturer. PCIe Gen 3×4 NVMe. Temperature: 0°C – 70°C.

Performance remains exceptional in 4K write, as well as a sequential read and write. The SSD brings unbeatable value to the table. The RGB lighting looks fantastic in almost all cases. 5-year warranty for added assurance.

RGB synchronization can be a bit buggy.

The XPG S40G is just one of the amazing offerings from XPG, and the best part is that they work well for several reasons. So, you are not left without any issues, to be honest. The SSD delivers exceptional read and write performance when you are talking about 4K and sequential read and write speeds. The SSD brings a surprisingly brilliant value proposition as well, which normally is not the case with most of the fancier options available. The heatsink also doubles up as a module that has RGB lighting on top of it, and the RGB lighting works well. Especially because you can sync it up with the rest of the components. XPG has also ensured that their SSD is backed with a 5-year warranty, which means that you are not getting something that is going to be just average. After using it for some time, the only issue that I found is that setting up the proper RGB working is something that can take some time, as it can be a bit buggy, but nothing a quick software update cannot fix.

#4 – Samsung 970 EVO

If there is one thing that I can already tell you about this list is that you are going to see a pattern where Samsung is going to be mentioned several times simply because of how good their SSDs are. This should not be a surprise to anyone who has been a part of the industry for some time because that is how things have been. I have been working in the field for some time now, and it has become a lot harder to surprise me, but I have to be honest, the XPG S40G SSD is the SSD that surprised me the most. In a market that is dominated by the likes of Samsung, XPG has managed to make a name for themselves. Not just that, they have done a great job at doing so as well as the XPG S40G 1TB SSD is a great offering for someone who wants good performance and great looks, too.

M.2 2280 form factor. Samsung Magician software. Sequential read/write speeds of up to 3,500/2,500 MB/s. Samsung V-NAND 3-bit MLC. PCIe Gen 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.3. 250GB | 500GB | 1TB | 2TB. Item Dimensions 0.87 x 3.15 x 0.90 inches.

Super-fast performance. Good price per gigabyte value. Available in several capacities. Windows software is easy to use. A 5-year warranty is peace of mind.

Endurance rating caps at 600 TBW.

Thankfully, the Samsung 970 EVO is another great option that we have in our hands, and the best part is that you are not paying out of your organs for this because it delivers great performance but also takes care of the consumer by not costing a lot of money. This is by far one of the fastest SSD as far as the random read and writes speeds are concerned. Not just that, however. The cost per gigabyte here is also good, and you can find this SSD in several capacities. Samsung has also added an easy to use Windows software. Not to forget, the 5-year warranty is still coming back, so you are good to go as far as the added peace of mind is concerned. Sadly, the biggest weakness that this SSD has that the endurance rating tops at 600 TBW as compared to some of the higher ratings.

#5 – Sabrent Rocket Q

Of all the companies that I have tested or used so far, the one that surprised me the most happened to be Sabrent because I was honestly not aware of their SSDs up until the time to use one finally came around. When I did go through the process, I was thoroughly surprised as to how good they are. Overall, if you are looking to get an SSD that does not cost an arm and leg, and has ridiculously fast speeds in general, then the Samsung 970 EVO is a great option and for several reasons. For starters, it offers a great value for money, and not just that, you are also getting access to great software and a great warranty. The only issue might be the somewhat lower endurance rating of just 600 TBW, but I doubt that is something that will be coming in the way of a lot of users. Because other than that, the SSD is one of the best performers that I have seen so far.

M.2 2280 form fact. NVMe 1.3 compliant. Sequential read/write speeds of up to 3,200/2,000 MB/s. PCIe Gen3 x 4 Interface. Nand: QLC. Item Dimensions 3.15 x 0.86 x 0.11 inches.

One of the best-priced SSDs available. The large SLC cache is great for consistent performance. Performs well even when thermal throttled. Great random read/write speeds. A 5-year warranty is a good thing to have.

There is no visible endurance rating available anywhere.

The Sabrent Rocket Q is one of the best options available for you to check right now, but the thing is that this SSD goes as high as 8TB when it comes to the capacity. We are, of course, focusing on the 1TB model because that is the topic of discussion here. Now the great thing here is that you are getting one of the best pricing in terms of competition, Sabrent understands how tough things are, and that is why the pricing is kept in line. The large SLC cache is also there to help you, and the performance remains excellent under load, as well. The random read/write speeds are pretty good. Not to forget, you are getting access to a 5-year warranty once you register your device, which is a very easy step for you to do, as well. The only downside that I have come across is that there is some thermal throttling at maximum loads but nothing that can make a visible effect.

#6 – Seagate FireCuda 510

Seagate has been a mainstay in the world of storage for some time now. To the point that you can find a Seagate drive everywhere, and there is nothing wrong with that. The company is known for making exceptional hard drives, and they are now giving a shot to SSDs, and so far, they have done a great job. If you are searching for something that delivers on all fronts but without costing a lot of money, the Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB SSD might be for you. However, what you must understand here is that this is a drive for those who want to have a higher capacity rather than faster storage. Granted, there is a high chance that the endurance rating on this SSD is lower than others, but for the price you are paying, there is a great value of money here, and you should not have any problems.

M.2 2280 form factor. Sequential read/write speeds up to 3,450/3,200 MB/s. 1.8-million hours of MTBF. 5-year warranty. Hardware Interface: PCI Express x4. SeaTools to test and analyze the health of this fast flash drive. 2TB, 1TB, 500GB.

The overall performance of the SSD is satisfactory. You can buy the SSD in capacities of up to 2TB. Backed by a 5-year warranty. Endurance rating is higher than average.

The SLC write cache is on the smaller side. Blue PCB might not sit well with everyone.

The one that we are looking at today is the Seagate FireCuda 510 SSD, and while it is available in several options, the 1TB variant is what we are looking at for now. How good is it? Well, that is what we are about to find out. For starters, if you are in search of something that delivers performance without adding too many fancy aspects to the drive, in general, this is the one that you should be going for. The performance is promising in all aspects, and you are getting a choice of up to 2TB of storage. Seagate is also offering a 5-year warranty, so you know that you are not being left behind, and the endurance ratings are better than some of the other options that we have come across, which is always a good thing and something we always can go for. With many good things, a few downsides are obvious. For starters, the SLC write cache is on the smaller side, which can affect performance, and the blue PCB might not bode well with everyone. So, it is something that you can keep in mind.

Best 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA SSDs

Now that we are done looking at the best NVMe SSDs, we still have a long way to go as the market also has some great 2.5-inch SATA based SSDs. Although these are comparatively slower than the NVMe based counterparts, they are also very affordable, so you are trading one thing for another. I am honestly impressed by what Seagate has done with the FireCuda. It is not often that you see an affordable SSD that is also great when you are talking about performance or the overall endurance, so everything does fall into place when you are discussing a good performing SSD. The only issue here is that the SLC write cache is on the smaller side, and that can be an issue for some, but overall this SSD does not leave any box unchecked.

#1 – Crucial MX500

The first 2.5-inch SSD that we are looking at comes from Crucial, a company that is well known for their work in the memory industry as they have given us some great offerings so far. Now obviously, this is a SATA-based SSD, so you have to understand the limitations that are going to be here but still, great price, remember?

Sequential read/writes up to 560/510 MB/s. Micron 3D NAND technology. Random read/writes of up to 95K/90K on all file types. AES 256-bit encryption. Hardware Interface: SATA 6.0 Gb/s. Hard Disk Form Factor 2.50 inches. Item Dimensions: 4.06 x 0.28 x 2.76 inches.

Excellent cost per gigabyte. Solid performance for a SATA based drive. Available in both SATA and M.2 interfaces. Capacities starting from 250GB to 2TB. Backed by an impressive 5-year warranty.

Average endurance ratings.

The Crucial MX500 offers one of the best low cost per gigabyte factors, and not just that, the performance is excellent for an SSD that runs on SSD. It is available in both 2.5-inch or M.2 SATA variants, and you have capacity options ranging from 250GB to 2TB, and you are also getting a pretty great warranty to kick things off with. Now with so much to write home about, there has to be an obvious downside, right? Well, the Crucial MX500 1TB does not come with a good endurance rating, especially for heavy write tasks, but overall, it delivers great performance.

#2 – SAMSUNG 860 PRO

Just like Samsung is ruling the M.2 NVMe market, the company has also ruled the 2.5-inch SATA market for the longest possible time and still does so because the SSDs they provide are just hard to match in terms of the performance. Granted, their offerings usually come with a premium, but that does not mean that this premium is going to cause any problems in any case. I have stopped using SATA-based SSDs for some time now, ever since I shifted to M.2 NVMe options, but I do have to say one thing that if you are looking for something affordable and something that just works without any issues, they are still a good option. Now the good thing here is that these don’t cost a lot and still give you with ample storage option. So, you can be sure that you are getting something that is good but without spending a lot of money. The Crucial MX500 1TB 2.5 SATA SSD is just that as it provides excellent value for money. Not just that, everything about this SSD, for what it is, is respectable, so you are not losing anything here, and you can buy whatever version you want, and it will work just fine without causing you too many hitches.

Powered by Samsung V-NAND technology. 1.5 million hours MTBF. 256-bit AES encryption. Sequential read/write of up to 560/530 MB/s. Hardware Interface: SATA 6.0 Gb/s. 5-year limited warranty. Refined ECC* algorithm and a new MJX controller.

The fastest SATA based SSD. Great reliability and endurance rating. Excellent software suite. Consistent performance across the board.

None.

Simply put, if you are looking for something that delivers good performance and you are not concerned with the price, the SAMSUNG 860 PRO SSD is a great option that you can get your hands on. There are many things to love about the Samsung 860 Pro, so we are going to make it easy for you. The SSD delivers one of the highest SATA performance when you are talking about sustained workloads. Not just that, the endurance rating is the highest we have seen in any SATA based SSD so far. What else is great is that the performance remains consistent with no discrepancies, which is a great aspect to have in a good SSD. Samsung Magician, along with other offerings in the package, just makes the whole deal a lot better and sweeter. I have spent hours testing this drive because I was adamant about finding something that does not sit well, and to my surprise, I did not find anything that could become an issue here.

#3 – Western Digital 1TB WD Blue

The status that Western Digital holds in the market of storage devices is such that it would be criminal to exclude them from any list that has anything to do with hard drives or solid-state drives, that is why we have to look at what they are offering, and the things that they offer are great. Now, SATA-based SSDs are not the fastest anymore, but it sometimes, it is not about that. What you are getting is a fast SSD and something available in capacities of up to 4TB, which is a great thing for those who just want to get as much storage as possible. Now, you are expected to pay a premium for a Samsung SSD, but the thing is that Samsung ensures that the premium that you are paying is worth it by giving you some features or certain aspects. In this case, faster than the speeds that you would otherwise get. So, you are not losing anything.

Sequential read/write speeds of up to 560/530 MB/s. 1.75 million hours MTTF or 500 TBW endurance. WD FIT Lab Certification. 5-year limited warranty. Hardware Interface: SATA 6.0 Gb/s. Item Dimensions: 3.95 x 2.75 x 0.28 inches.

One of the best endurance ratings in an SSD. Great compatibility. One of the fastest SATA-based SSD. Good warranty. Available in several capacities.

The software suite is on the older side.

The Western Digital WD Blue SSD might look like something that is not going to deliver the performance that you want, but for all the right reasons, it is a great offering that is available for you to look at. For anyone who is searching for an affordable SSD without spending a lot of money, this SSD does the job and does it well. Not just that, the fact that this is available in several capacities only goes to make a great buy for a lot of users out in the market. Not just that, another important thing is that if you are looking for something good with mainstream performance. So, you should be all good in the process, and there are not going to be any issues that might be coming in your way of how you want to use them. Moving on, I like this SSD for the fact that I can write a lot of data on it without having to worry about any signs of tear, thanks to an amazing endurance that Western Digital is normally known for. My only concern here is that the software suite that comes with the SSD has started to show its age, and it is not the best available.

#4 – SK Hynix Gold S31 SSD

I have heard a lot of names in the list with whom I have been familiar with for a very, very long time. Still, SK Hynix is a company that flew under my radar for the most part, and I regret that because after using this SSD and spending some time with it, my opinions are positive. I was a bit skeptical when I started using this SSD because, let’s be honest, SATA based SSDs are considered as drives for mass storage only by people who have experienced what it feels like owning an NVMe PCI-E SSD. However, Western Digital Blue has managed to defy my expectations beautifully and delivers excellent performance across the board. Granted, it is still a bit more expensive than a hard drive, and the software suite that comes with it is just not enough for everything but the overall SSD is great because you are getting something that just works perfectly fine and that too, without any issues.

5-year warranty. Sequential read/write speeds of up to 560/525 MB/s. 1.60 million hours MTBF or 600 TBW endurance. Cloning software included. Hardware Interface: SATA 6.0 Gb/s. Item Dimensions: 3.94 x 2.75 x 0.28 inches.

Great endurance rating. The SSD carries competitive pricing. Great overall performance. Cloning software works like a charm. A long warranty gives peace of mind.

The write cache is small. Max capacity is limited to 1TB.

The SK Hynix Gold S31 is the SSD that we are looking for, and while it does seemingly look like any other SATA based SSD in the market, it still brings a lot to the table and does not disappoint in any way you might be thinking it would. The best thing is that the Gold S31 is one of the most competitively priced SSDs in the market. This is a great way of entering the market so heavily saturated. That is not all, and it is also really great when it comes to the overall performance as it performs in competition with the rest of the options available. Another great thing is that SK Hynix is also kind enough to provide a cloning software, which just makes the whole transitioning a lot easier, especially if you have a lot of data on your other drive and you want the transition to be as smooth as possible. To add more value to the whole package, SK Hynix is also providing a 5-year warranty, so you do not have to stress over anything not working for you. Sadly, while the SSD itself is great, it does have a small write cache, which results in the SSD getting slow once the cache is filled up, and in the age of SSDs getting bigger and bigger, the Gold S31 tops at just 1TB.

#5 – SanDisk PLUS

At the time of writing this, it is safe to say that for many of us, SanDisk has become a household name. I have been using their flash drives and their memory cards for as long as I can remember, so testing their SSD was genuinely exciting for me. Overall, if you are in search of something that is reliable and is not going to cost you a lot of money, the SK Hynix Gold S31 is something that is right up your alley for a respectable performance and great pricing without too many quirks that might come your way.

Sequential read/write speeds of up to 535/450 MB/s. SATA 6.0 GB/s Shock resistant and vibration resistant. 3-year limited warranty. Form Factor: 2.50 inches. Item Dimensions: 0.28 x 3.96 x 2.75 inches.

Decent overall performance. Looks good. Has a good 3-year warranty. The pricing is competitive. Lots of storage capacities to choose from.

Does not have any desktop installation accessories included.

The SanDisk PLUS is what the company is offering, and in all honesty, it is the perfect example of how a company should never experiment if they have the right formula to go with, and that is what SanDisk is focusing on, too. Normally, looks are not what people go for when buying a SATA based SSD because it is mostly going to be hidden away in the case, but still, it looks great. However, looks are not the only thing that is great because the performance manages to keep up beautifully, and that too, without any issues. What else is there? SanDisk is well aware of how the market is, and therefore, the pricing is kept competitively to ensure the best possible experience. You are also getting storage options ranging from 120GB up to 2TB, so there is plenty to choose from. Sadly, my only issue here is that the drive does not ship with any accessories that will make the installation process a bit easier, but most of us do have screws lying around.

Best External 1TB SSDs

External SSDs are not common a year or two ago, but in recent times, they have caught up, and they have been bringing some serious performance chops. Therefore, we are going to look at a few external 1TB SSDs, as well. Just to be sure that no one feels left out. If you are in search of an SSD that is not going to cost you an arm and leg to just get used to, this is a great offering as it does just that and more in the price you are paying. It is a great offering that works wonderfully so.

#1 – SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable

SanDisk makes a glorious return this time around with their portable SSD, which aims to deliver great overall performance and the portability factor, as well. The good thing is that the price, while a bit higher than usual, is still competitive, and you are getting a great SSD in general, so you do not have to stress.

Read speeds of up to 550MB/s. IP5 rating for ruggedness. 3-year warranty. Shock-resistant shell. Hardware Interface: USB 3.1 Type C. Operating temperature (from 0°C to 45°C.)

The design is one of the best. 1TB model brings great value. The performance remains excellent. IP5 rating is good to have and adds peace of mind.

The cable could have been a bit better.

Now the great thing about the SanDisk Extreme Portable External SSD is that it is not just an SSD that you will have to be careful with; it is one of the smartest designs I have seen in a portable SSD, which certainly is a great thing, as a starter. However, that is not all, you are getting access to the 1TB variant at perhaps the best value for money, and the overall performance is excellent across the board. The star of the show, however, is the IP5 rating, which ensures that you are getting a rugged overall experience. My only concern here is that for an SSD that is built so brilliantly and will not break on you, the cable could have been a bit better than it is.

#2 – Seagate Barracuda Fast

I was honestly pleased when Seagate decided to release an external SSD because why not release something that delivers great performance through and through for a great price, as well. Plus, the market for external SSDs is still ripe for taking, so you do have a lot of great options that you can choose from. Being completely honest, the SanDisk Extreme Portable surprised me to a point at which I thought not. There are a lot of options normally available in the market, but SanDisk went one step ahead and made the SSD a rugged option even though there are no moving parts. This truly feels like an SSD that is made for people who want to have the best possible experience when using something, and they want to be able to throw it around because it looks like it is built for that. If you want good performance, then this is something that you should be looking into as it delivers excellent performance across the board without having a ridiculous premium on top of it. So, we are good to go.

Up to 540 MB/s speeds. Sleek LED accent light for status. Seamlessly connects to several devices. Hardware Interface: USB 3.0. Item Dimensions: 0.36 x 3.11 x 3.68 inches.

The SSD brings an attractive, streamlined design. The SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps performance is excellent. Seagate’s sync software works like a charm.

The performance leaves a little to be asked for.

The Seagate Barracuda is the one that we are reviewing. Honestly, it certainly is something that we would be suggesting to a lot of people as this drive delivers more performance and great overall value as well, so you are not left behind. Now the good news here is that the SSD is bringing an attractive design that honestly looks the part. If you want something that has a good emphasis on the looks, this one does the job. Another great thing here is that the SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps is great at delivering great overall performance. Another great thing that the Seagate sync software is pretty great when it comes to how it works. As far as the downsides are concerned, I don’t think there is anything to complain about aside from the fact that the NVMe based USB SSDs are still faster, but the comparison can be unfair in many situations.

#3 – SAMSUNG T7 Touch Portable

Honestly, I can safely say that the Seagate Barracuda SSD surprised me to the extent that I was not wondering. I was expecting a storage device that does not have a lot to give in terms of performance, but the overall performance of this SSD has been great through and through. If you are looking for a fast external SSD that is made by someone who has been an industry veteran for as long as one can remember, then the Seagate Barracuda Fast SSD is one of the best options that you can pick. Granted, it is still delivering SATA based speeds, but you are overall getting an excellent SSD that is going to last you a long, long time.

Added security using a fingerprint sensor. Sequential read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s. LED status indicator. Shock-resistant of up to 6 feet. Hardware Interface: USB 3.1 Type C. Item Dimensions: 3.40 x 2.20 x 0.30 inches.

The built-in fingerprint reader is great for added security. The LED indicator helps with the status display. Compact for the performance it offers. Great overall performance. Available in options up to 2TB. You are also getting a three-year warranty.

You need software for a fingerprint to unlock on a PC or a Mac.

Not just that, you are getting the peace of mind that normally comes with Seagate drives because I have been using this for some time, and this is by far the best portable SSD that I have used and that too, for several reasons. For starters, the built-in fingerprint reader and LED status indicators are two of the best features. Especially with a built-in fingerprint reader, which gives you an added peace of mind. The SSD is also among the smallest we have seen in terms of compact size. Not just that, if you are looking for something that is performance-oriented, this is the way to go. Not just that, the SSD is also available in capacities of up to 2TB, and you are also getting the tried and tested 2- year warranty by Samsung, so you know that you are covered in terms of that. My only issue here is that the fingerprint requires software on both PC and Mac, but don’t worry, your files won’t be accessible without that, so you are good to go in terms of safety.

A Comprehensive Guide To Buy The Best 1TB SSD – For Gamers!

We are finally done with what I would call the most comprehensive round-up of all the 1TB SSDs available in the market. The next step is to start paying attention to a comprehensive guide that will help you decide on the right SSD, as we have several options available for you that you can look above. If you have been looking at one of the fastest portable SSD, then there is no denying that the SAMSUNG T7 Touch Portable SSD is the one that you should be opting for. Granted, it is more expensive than some of the other options, but that does not mean that you are not going to get the money’s worth. For starters, this SSD is seriously fast. You could just look at your files fly away when you are writing on the SSD, and not just that, the best feature that I love here is the fingerprint because I can be sure that my files are safe here and they are not going to be lost if someone gets access to them. Overall, it should not come as a surprise that Samsung has done a fantastic job as far as the SSD is concerned, and I have no issues that might become a deal-breaker. The only issue that I ran into is that if you don’t have the fingerprint software installed, you might not be able to access the drive’s content. But other than that, everything is as good as it should have been when it comes to this portable SSD. With that said, if you are in the market looking for something good, this buying guide will help you buy the best possible SSD that you could. So, let’s not waste time and have a look.

SSD Form Factors

When choosing an SSD, regardless of the use case, deciding on the form factor is going to be very, very important. We have looked at the most options, such as NVMe SSDs, which are the most expensive, and then we have also looked at the SATA-based SSDs, which are on the cheaper, and are becoming even cheaper as the time goes on. Last but not the least, we have also looked at portable SSDs that are a mix of NVMe based options and SATA based options. These lie somewhere in the middle or can be ridiculously expensive based on what you are looking for. Still, you must make the right decision here as that is what is important.

Storage Capacity

Moving on, we have to start considering the storage capacity of the SSD that you are buying. This is not just limited to an SSD, as this can be used for anything that has anything to do with storage. With that said, SSDs are expensive when it comes to storage. The higher you go, the more you are likely to pay, and if you are going for something that is NVMe PCI-E based, then you are likely to pay a higher amount, but that also earns you really good overall performance in terms of speed and endurance, so you are getting something good here, and you will not be disappointed.

SSD Interfaces

The next thing that you will have to keep into consideration is the SSD interfaces because modern-day SSDs are now using several different interfaces, which can end up causing a confusing for those who just want to get their hands on something fast and reliable. Thankfully, it is not as complicated as it may sound like. The most common interface is going to be SATA. That is the one we have seen time and again, and that is where SSDs started, as well. But if you are looking for something fast and even more reliable, then you can go for NVMe PCI-E SSDs that are more expensive at the same time. Last but not the least, there are SATA or NVMe PCI-E based M.2 drivers that are also available. If you are looking to get your hands on those, the options are going to be limitless. However, making the right decision is the right way to go on about it, and that is how it works when choosing a drive for your requirements.

Flash Memory Used

Moving onto another important factor and that is the flash memory that the manufacturers are using in the SSD that you are looking to buy. Normally, this is not something that most people are going to concern themselves with, but the reason why it is important is that you should be doing your research here. Research because you are spending good money on a storage device, and you should always be careful with the SSD that you choose because you can easily end up with something that might go wrong. Thankfully, SSDs have improved to a drastic measured, and almost all the modern-day SSDs use good flash memories. The flash memories used in the SSDs of the modern-day and age are good with endurance and speeds, as well. Therefore, there is not much to stress over, because that is how it should be. Needless to say, we are certain of the fact that you are going to make the decision that is going to be right once you are done choosing an SSD.

How Much Should You Pay For A SSD

Next up, you are going to start wondering just how much you should be paying for an SSD. That is honestly something that is going to be entirely based on the type of SSD that you are going for. The SATA based SSDs are the cheapest available in the market. However, you lose out on the speeds if you go for those SSDs. Then you have the M.2 SATA based SSDs that retain the same speed as their SATA brethren but have an M.2 form factor, which means they plug directly into the motherboard. These are slightly more expensive than the SATA variants. Moving further, you have M.2 NVMe PCI-E based SSDs that are more expensive and the fastest. The higher you go, the more you end up paying; that is what you will have to be sure that you are making the right decision based on your requirements.

Why You Should Buy An SSD

This should not even be a question at this point, to be honest. SSDs have come a long way, and hard drives are slowly being phased out. The day SSDs end up reaching the same cost per gigabyte will be the end of the cycle of hard drives. However, as to why you should buy an SSD. There are a lot of reasons why one should go ahead with that decision. Simply put, SSDs are faster, not only in loading speeds but also in games in some cases. Additionally, you are getting far more reliable storage device than you can think of. That coupled with the fact that you are also getting great endurance. Overall, the SSDs are a definitive choice for anyone who just wants to enjoy a good experience with their computer. The entire list is dedicated to some of the best options that you can look at, and the best part is that you don’t have to stress over anything when you are buying these SSDs, either. All of them are tried and tested, and you will be more than happy to use any of these. That is one thing that we can assure you of.
